A "g reen" community is not just great for our environment, it’s the wave of the future. The 45th will not be left behind. From jobs to daily routines, greening will affect our lives. When we hear words l ike greening or reducing carbon emissions it sometimes sounds like a daunting challenge. Yet there are steps we can all take to do our part.

I will use the Council to ensure that

• All City building projects are required to use "green" practices
• Building and maintenance workers are all trained in reducing carbon emissions
• Our young people and unemployed workers are trained and ready to enter this new work force
• Free and low-costs audits for tenants and homeowners are available so residents can learn where they can cut back on wasted energy
• My office creates information packets on low-cost, high-impact ways to lower your carbon footprint
